The Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of British Columbia is a volunteer organization committed to helping people help themselves and others cope with crisis. National Center Suicide Prevention Training (NCSPT)

 

The NCSPT is a U.S. not-for-profit organization providing educational resources to help public officials, service providers, and community-based coalitions develop effective suicide prevention programs and policies. The NCSPT was established in June 2001 and is funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Human Resources and Services Administration, and United States Department of Health and Human Services.

 

The NCSPT offers a series of regular workshops and courses on suicide and suicide prevention. Information on NCSPT training opportunities is available at the following Web address:

QPR Institute

 

The QPR Institute is a private sector Web site offering comprehensive suicide prevention training programs and educational and clinical materials for the general public, professionals, and institutions. QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer which provides the foundation for their “gatekeeper” training program. Aimed at teachers, firefighters, church members, professionals and the public in general, QPR is dedicated to education that works to prevent suicide.
