Our
earliest design activities for the PSN included:
- Reviewing
existing suicide prevention resources, including books,
articles, media and other Web sites
- Evaluating
gaps in the current provision of resources for suicide prevention
- Determining
how to best serve our intended audience
- Outlining
the necessary features and characteristics for a national
suicide prevention Web site
Following
a review of our design activities, funding for the first half
of Phase 2 of the project, building a working prototype of
the site, was awarded by the NIMH in Fall 2002. Our building
activities since Fall 2002 have included:
- Conducting
interviews about needed Web site features with potential
users
- Revising
earlier designs based on that feedback
- Writing
and organizing content
- Locating
and organizing additional resources including books, articles,
media and other Web sites
- Creating
the prototype site
- Testing
the prototype site
