“I
noticed that Jim started coming in late for work and looked
like he hadn't slept well. Jim started to go to happy
hour everyday after work and would consistently buy rounds
of drinks for everyone. I knew that I couldn't afford
to spend like that on my salary. I didn't know Jim
very well, but after my sister's diagnosis of depression,
I knew that Jim could be clinically depressed and could
be at risk for suicide. I spoke to my boss about my
concern.”
