Advisory Consultants American Association of Suicidology Consultants Founded in 1968, the goal of the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) is to understand and prevent suicide. AAS’s members include individuals such as: mental health and public health professionals, researchers, crisis center volunteers, survivors of suicide and a variety of lay persons who have an interest in suicide prevention. The AAS has collaborated with the development of the Preventing Suicide Network through the use of AAS member experts who have served as consultants to the project. AAS Project consultants include:
