| The Preventing Suicide Network has provided the answers to the following frequently asked questions. | ||
|
Question #3 What is an intermediary and would I qualify? An intermediary is anyone who is concerned about someone who may be suicidal. Because of the relationship associated with the person who is at risk for suicide, the intermediary is described by the role within that relationship, such as a parent or mental health professional. Another way to think about an intermediary is someone who may be in a position to advocate for or help a person who may be suicidal. Any individual, who is not in crisis themselves, qualifies as an intermediary. The PSN has listed 19 types of intermediaries that are most frequently impacted by suicide and suicidal people, but the resources on the PSN are not limited to individuals within these roles. |

Question #4 I can’t seem to find the information that I need, what are my options? There are 5 ways to find information through the Preventing Suicide Network.

Question #5 I am not getting any resources for the selections that I make on the Tailored Search, what do I need to do? You may get a return of ” 0” if you select too many items on the Tailored Search Page. Try selecting one or two items and searching again. Another problem may be that the specific database that you are searching does not have information on the area(s) in which you are interested. Try choosing another database from the provided list. If you continue to have problems, please contact the Online Guide. |

Question #6 How often is the PSN updated or reviewed? The staff of the Preventing Suicide Network updates the Web site weekly. The staff reviews, updates, and corrects content regularly.
