Research Institutions
There are many institutions focusing on developing a more comprehensive understanding of the topic of suicide.   We have highlighted several noteworthy national and international institutions working to help, maintain, and improve prevention and treatment efforts.

Electronic, print, and multimedia resources are provided to help you to find authoritative information on Research institutions with a foundation in suicide and suicide prevention research. Center for the Study of Suicide and Life Threatening Behavior: University of South Carolina

 

The Center for the Study of Suicide and Life Threatening Behavior based at the University of South Carolina is primarily focused on disseminating, publishing, facilitating, consulting on, and conducting research about suicide and life-threatening behaviors.   Additionally, the center edits the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) journal, Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior .

Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP): Griffith University

 

Griffith University established AISRAP in 1997 with financial and infrastructure help from the Queensland Government, the private sector, and Griffith University.   The mission of AISRAP is to promote, conduct, and support comprehensive programs of research activities for the prevention of suicidal behaviors in Australia.
