| Introduction | ||
|
Military personnel can be valuable resources for the individuals within their units by distributing materials, offering training, providing information about support services, and being able to proactively observe potential associated factors with suicide for individuals and offering therapeutic information as needed.
It is very likely that you will work with a person who is impacted by suicide within your tenure as a member of the military. A member of the military must be knowledgeable about suicide in order to maintain a safe, productive, and supportive working environment.
Education in the fields of suicide and suicide prevention can help military personnel to have a greater understanding of suicide as well as the impact of suicide on family, communities, states, nations, and the world. Enhanced education using tools like books, online tools, courses, and organizations can help military personnel to meet the needs of the individuals they come in contact with in relation to suicide as well as advocate for suicide prevention efforts. |
