Privacy & Terms
The Preventing Suicide Network uses a variety of best practices to ensure your privacy and earn your trust.
Introduction

The Preventing Suicide Network ascribes to the Health on the Net Foundation Code (HON) and is a recipient of the HON seal [note this is pending, once the site is completed]. HON is an international, independent Web site accreditation body that has reviewed and recognized the PNS Web site for compliance with the eight HON quality and ethics standards.

Additionally, the Preventing Suicide Network is a licensee of the TRUSTe Privacy Program [the license will be in place once the site is complete]. TRUSTe is an independent, nonprofit organization whose goal is to build users' trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the use of fair information practices. As required of TRUSTe licensees, we will inform you of the following in this privacy policy:

 

  • What personally identifiable information of yours is collected
  • What organization is collecting the information
  • How the information is use
  • With whom the information may be shared
  • What choices are available regarding collection, use and distribution of the information
  • What kind of security procedures are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control
  • How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information

The Preventing Suicide Network also complies with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) “Privacy Rule”, effective April 14, 2003. As such, iTeleHealth, Inc. is NOT a covered entity under the Privacy Rule, however voluntarily complies with the tenets of the Privacy Rule in accordance with the guidance of Diane J. Frasier, Head of the Contracting Activity and Director, Office of Acquisition Management and Policy, OA, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland 20892.

The Preventing Suicide Network team wants you to feel as comfortable as possible in accessing information from our site, but wants to remind you that information published here is not intended to be a substitute for professional mental health advice.
